What Does Immune Boosting Really Mean?

DECEMBER 28, 2019
2020 is not only a New Year, it’s a New Decade, a New Era, a New Opportunity, a New Perspective, a New Time. Time for a shift in not only perspective but focus, maybe before you were driven to give up smoking, or eat less junk food, maybe your New Year’s Resolution was to quit drinking, sleep more, sleep less, drink less caffeine, more juice…for whatever reason, which ever rationale you use to justify removing those habits that don’t serve you anymore. If they are health related, then you are probably ultimately trying to improve immune function whether you realize it or not. To have your immune system functioning properly is not only taken for granted by lots of healthy folks, but is by far a gift in and of itself that some folks would give anything to enjoy.
But for some, the idea of optimum immune function seems out of reach. However, if we look further into what ‘proper immune function’ even means, we might be better able to apply these principles into our everyday life so that it isn’t some drastic lifestyle change, or huge purge of everything close to us, but rather a steady stream of constant choices that steadily lead us on the path to a healthier more resilient immune system.
First of all, where is your immune system, even? Do you know? I bet one guess might be your white blood cells, which is a good one, but there’s so much more to it. Your tonsils are part of your immune system sitting as tiny reservoirs of white blood cells and attacking any invaders that enter thru the mouth before they can reach the internal organs. That’s why when Dr.’s recommend removing them, it’s not always necessarily the wisest option and other possibilities or underlying factors should be investigated before the removal.
Briefly, our thymus gland under your breastbone produces our T-cells which are the most active and most daring lymphocytes or fighter white blood cells, there are several types of white blood cells. Helper T-cells identify invaders and stimulate the production of other immunity cells located in the spleen and lymph nodes. Other important areas of lymph tissue throughout the body include the appendix and throughout the intestinal tract. 80% of our Immune System lies in our intestinal tract, which explains why having healthy bacteria (probitiocs) in the correct concentrations to ensure health and longevity is vital.
Dangerous virus’ such as HIV have some DNA, although not the complete molecule, so they invade a healthy cell, stealing it’s DNA and use it to propagate and increase in number. This host cell can be a blood cell or any cell in the body, eventually, this parasitic action results in the cell becoming ‘bleached out’ by having it’s nutrients expended causing it to rupture and spew the virus into healthy tissue which it continues to invade.
Symptoms of poor immune function are not only Auto Immune Diseases or Cancer, for instance dark circles under the eyes, cravings, sinus problems, joint and muscle dysfunction, headaches, coughing, rashes, emotional behavior problems, mood swings, respiratory problems, food sensitivities, even hay fever, are signs of an immune system whose function is being diminished by some imbalance that either originates chemically, physically, or electromagnetically.
Improving immune function includes many different facets and is not limited to any one choice, action or medication. So many different factors contribute to immune boosting and optimum immune function such as increasing white blood cells, increasing available energy in the body, removing blockages, removing causes of diminished immune function, improving circulation, detoxing the liver, eliminating factors contributing to increased stress levels, lowering stress levels, lowering cortisol and adrenaline levels, improving digestion, absorption and bioavailability of nutrients, purifying the blood, improving mental clarity, practicing Mindfulness Techniques, Gratitude, Forgiveness, increasing Serotonin and Oxytocin or Love chemical hormones.
What do we mean chemical imbalance? This could either be food related, or literally chemically related such as toxins you are exposing your body to in the form of personal care products, cleaning agents, etc.
Physical imbalances could stem or originate by some trauma, accident, abuse, blockage, etc. and can usually be corrected by some form of Chiropractic care, not always cracking.
Electromagnetic imbalances would include cell phones, wifi, EMF’s (electro magnetic fields) such as emanating from appliances, microwaves, electronics, Smartmeters, cell towers, etc.
It might not sound like much, but just something as simple as not getting enough vitamins and nutrients can play an integral role in wellness. Nutritional deficiencies can cause all kinds of biochemical reactions in the body. A good organic Multi-vitamin, food derived, might be a wise, healthy choice to bring in the New Year to optimize immune function and what an easy place to start!
Emotions are integral to well being, our personality creates our personal reality. If we are continuously angry, unhappy, hurt, stressed, etc. we are continually sending stress messages to every tissue in our bodies, every living cell feels the tension, the pressure is real. Sometimes, eliminating these factors in our lives seems impossible if our work situation is less than perfect or our coworkers rub us the wrong way. But for our own entertainment, there is a reason they say ‘laughter is the best medicine.’
Our bodies secrete certain hormones that stimulate growth and that make us receptive when we are happy, laughing enjoying life. Sure, we may not be able to change the world around us, bad things might happen, but we can change the world within us, what we bring in, what we listen to, watch, what we focus on. If what we focus on is Drama, Death and Dying, Trauma, constant sadness, living in a state of dread because of what we choose to ‘entertain’ ourselves with than how can we really expect to ever feel better when we’re not experiencing much joy? If your life isn’t what you want, you work with people you don’t like, you eat food that makes you feel ill, you buy Over The Counter medications that make you feel worse, you surround yourself with shows full of depression and anxiety, and can’t figure out why you don’t feel good, hopefully reading this will help!
Let’s bring in the New Year by going the extra step to increase our longevity, giving a little more to increase our well being or choosing the healthier choice for the planet, because if we want to make the world a better place, we need to start with ourselves, we are all interconnected. If it’s better for one, it’s probably better for all.
